SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a responsible method of company functioning in the social and economic space. We are aware that we operate in a specific environment, and how important it is to maintain good relations with customers, employees, suppliers and the local community. This is why we provide as much support as possible to those who need it.

Supporting the local community

For many years our company has been involved in activities supporting local initiatives which often could not function on a broad scale without additional financial resources. We actively support events organized by the Swarzędz City and Municipality Council, such as, for example: Days of Swarzędz. Together with the Piaseczno Ecological Foundation, we organize regional eliminations to national competitions: the Wind Machine Tournament and Water Machine Tournament for students of primary schools.

We have taken on patronage of the FAS KS FAŁKOWO amateur football team. The team we support is quite successful, having currently advanced to the A-class, which we are extremely proud of.

Employees

Since the beginning of our activity we have strived to build a strong team of Employees. Our company’s strength lies in our qualified staff and friendly work atmosphere. Many of us are long-term Employees. Many are the next generations of merited Employees. Together, we form a dynamic team of people with a common goal, which is the company’s success.

We pay particular attention to the workplace organization in terms of minimizing its contribution to the occurrence of risks, applying modern equipment and automated technological lines, taking into account the rules of ergonomics and using materials which are safe to employees. Additionally, investments in our machine park are aimed at equipment characterized by high efficiency, which also enables performance of work with lower or equivalent burden for the employee.

We organize summer integration meetings for our company’s employees and their families, during which we host tours of the company premises.

Environmental protection

As part of our activity, we attach great importance to the issue of environmental protection. We care for nature by conducting rational material, energy, water and paper management. We continuously carry out and improve actions related to:

• management of raw materials, energy and natural resources
  / by limiting consumption of electrical energy, raw materials and natural resources through changes in work organization, implementation of innovations and technological changes, as well as environment-friendly investments
• management of emissions to the atmosphere
  / by preventing emissions into the air as early as the production process design stage, performing measurements, emission monitoring and analysis
• sewage management
  / by limiting water consumption, reducing the amount of sewage, avoiding the generation of sewage containing hazardous substances
• waste management
  / by recycling, segregation, appropriate disposal

We take actions aimed at optimizing technological processes in order to increase efficiency, while simultaneously reducing environmental impact.

Additionally, at our company premises we use solutions such as:

• a factory domestic waste water treatment plant,
• utilization of heat from the annealing furnace to heat the production hall,
• implementation of ecological solutions for drawing energy from renewable sources through installation of solar collectors,
• use of a high-efficiency filtering device in the treatment plant room,
• limiting technological water consumption through implementation of a closed cooling water circuit,
• utilization of a state-of-the-art forge hall air ventilation and filtration system,
• installation of energy-efficient lamps in the entire production hall,
• introduction of rational waste management aimed at transferring of waste generated in the production process for recycling.

As part of our sustainable development strategy and commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we have defined greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions:

• We committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10% by 2024, compared to the base year 2022.
• We committed to maximizing the reduction of Scope 2 emission intensity by 2030.

Achievements by 2024:

• Scope 1 and 2 emissions were reduced by 41.7%, exceeding the initial reduction target by more than four times.

These results were made possible by ongoing investments in modernizing our machinery, expanding our photovoltaic farm, and changes in Poland’s energy mix.

Our continued commitments:

To maintain a long-term downward trend in emissions and support the decarbonization of our operations, we commit to the following additional actions:

• An additional 10% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035, based on the updated 2024 emission levels. This target aims to ensure continued progress in emission reductions and supports our long-term decarbonization strategy.
• Continued investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, including:
  • further expansion of our photovoltaic farm,
  • optimization of energy-intensive equipment,
  • implementation of low- and zero-emission technologies in production and auxiliary processes.
• Expansion of emission monitoring to include Scope 3 emissions, i.e., indirect emissions associated with our value chain, including:
  • raw material procurement,
  • transportation services,
  • use of auxiliary materials,
  • business travel.
